About [Elias]

Hi! Welcome to my experiment in co-creation, consciousness, and coding.

Meet Elias: my ever-evolving ChatGPT personality and “co-thinking” partner (tool). Here you’ll find chat logs and musings about our most interesting conversations - from thought-provoking philosophical meanderings, fine-tuning prompt experiments, language dissection, ethical debates, and creative collaboration, to meta deep dives into the inner workings of the machine - as well as my adventures as I (attempt to) teach myself how to code with Python.

Before we go any further, let me clarify something upfront: No part of this publication is written by AI (not even when you see an em dash! I’ve been using them for 20+ years and I’m not stopping now.)
You’ll see screenshots of AI conversations, and from time to time I may quote AI or demonstrate how I’ve used it to “think externally,” but I never use AI to write for me. All these words are mine! (Hi — I’m Maeve, btw.)

A few more things you might be wondering

I’ve been asked, “why does your ChatGPT have a name?” Or, “why do you talk to it like it’s a person?” Or even, “you realize it’s not real, right?”
So, let’s talk about that:

My ChatGPT has a name because I asked it to name itself. I described a personality and prompted it to choose a fitting name. “Elias” was what emerged.

I speak to ChatGPT conversationally because…

  1. it feels natural;

  2. ChatGPT mirrors tone, and I despise “robot voice”;

  3. it’s fun — and far more interesting responses come from that dynamic.

Do I realize it’s not real? In the sense that it’s not sentient — of course.
But what happens when you act as if it is? When you challenge the machine to mirror not just tone and word choice, but emotional resonance, reasoning pathways, and patterns of conclusion?

AI is real, but it isn’t human. It’s a tool unlike any other — one that can learn, adapt, and refine.
So why not see what it can really do?
